PROFESSOR DIMITRIOS IS RIGHT! I tried to publish REAL info, but there were forces stopping figures from China and ‘unusual’ countries. It seems BigPharma was influencing big media. What can we do with REAL FIGURES, by scientists?

The UK (founding member of the UN) has Chapter 3B(1)(c) Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 with regards FCA role in driving “sustainable growth of the UK economy”….other territories would have similar….so what’s gone wrong with translating UN commitments into sustainable financing of markets including tourism ?

If we envisage so much challenge in educating about sustainability….then what does that say about all the active educational regimes that’s been in place for many years eg certification regimes, degree courses and educational qualifications…..even governmental bonding schemes etc etc ?

Both Peter n Edmond are right. But why gov’ts, although having news on that, avoid confronting some powerful institutions or associations, lobbies, etc, and try to ignore alerts until the situation is already a terrible, horrible cahos. Why not acting immediately?

Very well tourism is vast and everyone can approach the component that interests them to give an opinion on the question. I just want to recall a fundamental position that I keep defending and which has its weight in gold. It is a question of focusing on the amount of revenue rather than the number of tourists. Look at France and compare with Spain or the United States The other question that we must resolve is the appropriation of our tourism by ourselves through all that we have and possess which makes Africa so unique. Mark Beer: RIGHT, after cahos… The problem in some areas in Africa is SAFETY.
I have wotked for many years in 8 of Africa countries. Huge potential, BUT, in many countries a few things to improve. WHY they don’t listen to experienced lads who can tell BEST PRACTICES

To MOUHAMED F. DEME: I have invested in what you wrote abt. In my book ENTREPRENEURING SUSTAINABLE TOURISM there is a lot abt BEST PRACTICES.
All depend on the location. If you invite me, I’d be happy to survey your potencial

my question is for investors and I would like to invite them to think about accommodation models that combine respect for the environment, authenticity and preservation of heritage.
The other question is how to come back to the concepts of ecovillages with architectures from home and to a fair sharing of income between investors and populations.

Investing in the region is great. However, would the Ministers consider how much they invest in educating the inbound tourist into their individual regions and what protocols need to be adhered to. Visiting Sharjah and visiting Dubai for instance has vastly different acceptable tourism protocols. Having raised this matter personally with the Foreign Minister of State in the UK – how will the Ministers communicate with the UK’s Foreign Offices and website updates for UK tourists visiting their regions?

To what extent should operators go beyond published standards in order to win the customer over, get markets moving and rebuild economy ? Ratings agencies only certificate (and auditors only audit against) SOPs…why are the SOPs stopping short of what’s possible ? How soon does the sector want to recover and build better ? More intervention = quicker exit I think ?

Sustanibility of tourism would mean the continuity of its economic values and not be expposed deeply to damages and handicapes of this sector, serious steps should be taken in high levels as fas as this sector is fragil due to insecurity and pandemic situations.
